To see if this is the same issue, look at the bottom right part of the screen and play with the wheel you use for changing shutter speed and etc and see if the number is going up/down (in the positives and negatives). If so, you're having the same problem I had. Work with that button and try to free it up.
Just registered to report my solution. I have a similar problem with the PowerShot S110 of my wife's sister. At some time a menu button and all joystick buttons stop working. The problem was because of sticking zoom control (yeah it's very stupid). At the normal state zoom control must return to c The PowerShot SX120 IS does have an option for resetting itself but the option is listed within the camera's menu and requires for the screen to operate for us to navigate through the menu options. The camera also does not have a separate battery that will power the LCD screen and the screen is powered by the primary battery.
Hi - My nice new R5 has a fault - a dead Mode button I have tried two or three suggestions to cure this, but it remains a problem - It is currently stuck on M and I want to load the latest firmware 1.5 (1.4 installed) - I need to select P to do this, someone suggested that it would load with M selected - sadly not for me! - also tried with the "FIR" ended version of the software.
Lock Button: used for locking camera controls (customizable via menu). Horizontal Dial: by default, it is used for changing Camera ISO in normal camera modes. Also used for changing specific button and quick menu settings. Rear Buttons. The Canon EOS R6 has a number of buttons on the back of the camera that also serve particular needs.
Set your camera to manual. Turn off any features that might drain the battery (image stabilization, flash, LCD view etc) Set your shutter to the slowest speed possible (15-30 seconds) Take a picture. Open the battery door during the exposure and then close it right up. 0Sq9vf.
