1) power at battery. 2) tight terminals at battery/solid wiring (If you had your battery replaced recently, there could be a connection issue at the terminals, or possibly a faulty battery) 3) power up at the jump start terminals. 4) power to the starter switch. The car needs to have a good ground to charge the battery. Again, a dead car battery isn’t just due to the ground strap. The car is a 2010 E90 335d. After not driving it for a few days, I got in and tried to start it and it cranked really slow. It was obvious the battery was low, so I charged it overnight. At the same time, there was a light indicating the SOS system was disabled, the iDrive screen was blank, and there were no chimes of any sort. I had the car into Union Park BMW in Wilmington DE on 5/20 to perform the recall associated with the Power Supply System/Battery Positive Cable Kit/Power Distribution Box Inspection. When I got the car back, the trunk would not open. The dealership diagnosed the problem as a bad JBE (Junction Box Electronic) module. MjHM7b.
